Post-Draft Update: Projected 2009 Depth Chart

In the last week, the San Diego Chargers drafted eight players, signed 18 college free agents, cut two recent draft picks and got Darren Sproles to sign his franchise tender. After that flurry of activity, the team's depth chart has a vastly different look to it.

There is still plenty to be settled on San Diego's depth chart. There's a logjam at inside linebacker, a brewing battle at right guard, and a slew of similarly talented players in the mix at safety.

The NFL Draft created some confusion, as well. Third-round pick Louis Vasquez will compete with Kynan Forney for a starting job. Fourth-round pick Vaughn Martin has the talent to run first-string, but his inexperience has him buried on the depth chart. And Demetrius Byrd could be the No. 6 receiver, or he may never play football again.

The Chargers coaching staff will get its first chance to start organizing the depth chart this weekend when the team hosts its first Mini Camp of the new season.

Here's the team's unofficial depth chart as it stands now: Chargers Depth Chart.
