NFL Experience: Card Show

We briefly touched upon the Topps Card Show last time, well now we have new details regarding the event. Collectors will find the best of everything at NFL's interactive theme park at Campbell Shipyard in San Diego including a 12-card set featuring the San Diego Chargers. The hours coincide with those of the NFL Experience and are the preamble to Super Bowl XXXVII.

The NFL's five trading card licensees and Krause Publications will be conducting the traditional Super Bowl wrapper redemption at the Topps Super Bowl XXXVII Card Show in San Diego. To get the cards from the five card companies, open three packs of one of their 2002 NFL products at the company booth. The sixth card each week will be available at the Krause booth. To get that one, you must show proof that you have the five other cards from that week.

The 12-card set featuring players from the 2002 San Diego Chargers has been designed exclusively for the show.

Included in the set are two cards each of Drew Brees, LaDainian Tomlinson, Curtis Conway, Junior Seau, Quentin Jammer and Tim Dwight. Different cards of each player will be given away during the two weeks of the show.

Among the many items available at dealers' booths will be Super Bowl XXXVII bobblehead dolls of the Chargers' Brees and Tomlinson wearing San Diego's retro uniforms that feature the powder-blue jersey. The bobbleheads are available at Booth 5 at the entrance to the show.

On display at the Card Show will be trading cards, memorabilia and officially licensed product by exhibitors from 18 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. Collectors and non-collectors alike will marvel at products ranging from vintage trading cards, to Super Bowl memorabilia, to pins (you have to stop by the Fotoball booth), coins and current trading cards.

Title sponsor Topps will be giving away $100 shopping sprees in the Show, staging their infamous Pack Wars, and running random give-aways of high-end Topps football product. Topps also has manufactured a Super Bowl set of cards that will be available only from Show dealers.

A major exhibitor in this year's show will be Professional Sports Authenticators (PSA), the world's largest third-party authentication service and the official grading service and the official autograph authenticator of Super Bowl XXXVII.

And then there are the free autographs on the Topps Autograph Stage. A stellar lineup of current and former NFL greats will be on hand to sign for their fans. Information on the autograph schedule is available by calling 888-635-2273 starting Jan. 13. PSA will authenticate all autographs free of charge.
