The San Diego Chargers hope their 2009 training camp laid the groundwork for the most successful season in franchise history. Now, with camp in the rear-view mirror, it's up to Coach Norv Turner to bring those high hopes to fruition.
The Chargers caught several significant breaks during training camp. Firstly, the team endured no major injuries. Secondly, many young players made big improvements, including DL Ogemdi Nwagbuo, LB Antwan Applewhite and FS Paul Oliver.
Perhaps just as importantly, Coach Norv Turner's new approach to training camp -- in which the first-team players received extended reps to get the team ready for the start of the season -- earned rave reviews.
The next five months will determine whether this year's training camp was a success. Before that happens, we take one final look back at last month's work, which served as a precursor for an exciting season to come.
