RB C.J. Spiller
The Chargers are reportedly considering taking a running back high in the 2010 NFL Draft, as LaDainian Tomlinson is likely to be released this offseason before his bonus comes due in March.
As for the other teams on the weekend agenda, Oregon State and NC State are regular destinations on the itineraries of San Diego scouts. This will be at least the third time the Chargers have scouted an NC State game, also attending last week's game against Maryland and the season-opener against South Carolina.
NC State, of course, is the alma mater of Philip Rivers, the face of the franchise.
And by going to the OSU game as well, the Chargers will be getting a first-hand look at the Beavers for at least the fourth time this season. The Chargers also attended Oregon State's games against Portland State, Arizona and UCLA.
The Chargers have drafted out of OSU as recently as 2009, when the team spent a fifth-round pick on CB Brandon Hughes. The rookie is currently on injured-reserve with a knee injury but is expected to compete for a role in the secondary next year.
