Chiefs Lose Siler for the Season

Kansas City Chiefs middle linebacker Brandon Siler's season is over before it ever really began.

The free agent linebacker tore his Achilles tendon and is out for the season, undergoing surgery to repair the damage, according to his agent, David Canter.

On Wednesday, he was placed on injured reserve and will be lost for the entire 2011 season.

The former University of Florida and San Diego Chargers linebacker was in the mix for playing time in Kansas City. In fact, he was competing with Jovan Belcher for a starting role in 2011.

With his injury, veteran Demorrio Williams could fill the shoes vacated by Siler's season end injury.

In 2010, Siler had 44 tackles, one sack and one interception in a part time role for the second place Chargers.
