In continuation of a long-standing team policy, taxpayers of Jackson County (Missouri) will receive the first opportunity to purchase single-game tickets for Kansas City Chiefs home games for the upcoming 2003 season which begins August 9. The one-day sale is scheduled for this Monday, July 21st beginning at 8 AM.
Tickets are available for all ten home games including AFC West matchups with conference champion Oakland, Denver and San Diego, as well as contests with Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota, and San Francisco.
Ticket prices begin at $70 (club) and range downward from $63.50 (field box), $59 (upper box), $55 (field reserve), and $51 (upper reserve) and for the public's convenience may be purchased at a variety of locations throughout the metro Kansas City area including the Arrowhead Stadium Ticket Office and selected Ticketmaster Ticket Centers (see accompanying list). No telephone orders will be accepted for this sale.
The number of tickets that a Jackson County taxpayer can purchase on July 21st is limited to four (4) only for the Denver and Oakland games at Arrowhead. Purchasers are not limited, however, to the number they care to buy for all other games, subject to ticket availability of course.
The following policies regarding the purchase of tickets by Jackson County taxpayers have been in place for years now. But as reminder, purchasers must have the following in hand:
- Two forms of identification including a photo of the person purchasing the tickets along with a personal 2002 Jackson County, Missouri property tax receipt in the same name.
- Both forms in the name of the person physically present at the moment of purchase.
- No tax waivers and husbands and wives cannot use each other's receipts or ID's, or children use their parents' information and vice versa.
Those taxpayers making their purchases at the Arrowhead Stadium Ticket Office may use credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) as well as cash but no checks will be accepted at any location.
The Ticketmaster Ticket Centers will accept cash only, but at some of their locations credit card use is possible. The Jones Store outlets will also accept Jones Store cards.
No special advantage is gained by any early morning arrival outside the Arrowhead Stadium ticket office or any participating Ticketmaster Ticket Center. Prospective purchasers in line at 7 AM will receive a random number to identify their place in order of purchase. All buyers will then line up in sequence after the first number is determined. Those individuals without numbers will be sold tickets after those with numbers, pending ticket availability. Please understand that receiving a number does not guarantee an opportunity to buy tickets; it only determines a person's place in line.
General Sale to follow
On Tuesday, July 22nd the sale of remaining Chiefs single-game tickets will begin at 8 AM at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, at the Arrowhead Stadium Ticket Office, via the Internet at Ticketmaster.com or by telephone through Ticketmaster (816/931-3330) or (800/676-5488). Purchases of tickets to the Denver and Oakland games will be limited to four (4) to individual, but only on the opening day of sale; all other games are open to an unlimited purchase of tickets subject to availability. All Ticketmaster Centers throughout the greater metro area can accommodate ticket purchasers for the general sale.
