Warpaint Illustrated has confirmed the contract between the Chiefs and Fisher is a 4-year deal valued at $28 million. There is no fifth year option on the contract and no accelerations to void the deal.
However, if Fisher is the starting left tackle in year four, we are told , Fisher will receive a $2 million dollar pay increase for the 2016 season.
It was a tricky contract for the Chiefs. They gave up the potential for a five-year deal locking up Fisher's rights. Instead they guaranteed the entirety of his contract over four seasons. So in other words, Mr. Fisher is going to get all monies do thru the entirety of his rookie contract.
This deal with Fisher does allow the Chiefs to begin adding a couple of veteran players to their roster.
So who might those be?
Couple of names to keep an eye for Chiefs fans include former New York Jets Guard, Brandon Moore, and Kansas City native Wide Receiver, Brandon Lloyd.
Stay tuned to Warpaint Illustrated for those and any other Chiefs rumblings as training camp begins in earnest today.
