Chiefs Notes: Pagac New Linebackers Coach

The Chiefs acted quickly finding a replacement for linebackers coach Joe Vitt.

The Chiefs' coaching lineup now appears complete with the signing of former Oakland Raiders assistant Fred Pagac as linebackers coach. He replaces Joe Vitt, who accepted a job in St. Louis.

Pagac coached the Raiders linebackers for three seasons in his first NFL coaching stint. He coached for 19 seasons at Ohio State, his alma mater. In his 1974 NFL rookie season with Chicago, Pagac won the club's Brian Piccolo Award.
"Our goal is to re-sign the guys we have. At that time, from what I understand, there won't be any dollars left to sign anybody (else), unless you go bottom-fishing." -- Dick Vermeil, on the Chiefs' cap situation relative to free agent activity.
