Chiefs Trim Roster to 53 Limit

Not many surprises about the Chiefs roster cuts. As expected the Chiefs waived veteran kicker and one rookie that turned heads at training camp.

The Kansas City Chiefs trimmed their roster to the league minimum of 53 by cutting 15 players.

The two surprises were Guard Ryan Lilja and receiver Chris Horn. The Chiefs hope that Lilja slips through waivers but the New York Giants are said to be on the list to claim the guard.

The other surprise is wide receiver Chris Horn. With the Chiefs keeping Kris Wilson on the roster that means either they are going to place him on injured reserve and lose him for the next six weeks; or make a trade for a veteran wide receiver.

The Chiefs did place linebacker Mike Maslowski on the injured reserve. That means he won't take a snap for Kansas City this season.
