Davis Out for Sunday's Contest against KC

The Panthers hoping to regain the glory that led them to Super Bowl runner-ups were another blow on offense as they lose their second offensive player inside a week.

The Carolina Panthers enter Sunday's matchup already down wide receiver Steve Smith who broke his leg in Monday's night season opening loss against the Packers.

Now comes news that veteran tailback Stephen Davis will be sidelined for up to five weeks after going under the knife late Friday to repair cartlidge in his knee.

That means DeShaun Foster will see action and that could put a crimp in the Panthers offensive game plan against the Chiefs on Sunday in Arrowhead.

Foster does not have the prowess of last week's blur Quentin Griffin but he can make plays. Foster made some big runs last year in the Panthers playoff run and he does have the ability to cut back and that's been a problem for the Chiefs defense.
