CHIEFS NEWS: Holmes Out for Patriots Game

Kansas City will have to get back on the winning track without Priest Holmes.

RB Priest Holmes will likely miss a second straight game in next week's Monday night game against New England at Arrowhead, coach Dick Vermeil said Monday. Holmes missed the Saints loss with a strained MCL.

RB Derrick Blaylock, one week after missing a game with a thigh injury, rushed for 186 yards and one TD in the Saints loss. It was the fifth-best rushing performance in Chiefs history and only the second 100-yard game from somebody other than Priest Holmes in Holmes' four seasons in Kansas City.

QB Trent Green has thrown for 300 or more yards in four of his last five games, but the Chiefs have lost three of those games. Green has been intercepted four times in his last two outings.

WR Johnnie Morton had two major misplays that cost Kansas City two turnovers in the loss to the Saints. His fumble at the New Orleans 15 in the first quarter cost KC points, and his fall in the third quarter led to an easy pick by Mike McKenzie. Top Stories
