Chiefs Draft LSU DE Tyson Jackson At #3

The Chiefs drafted an LSU defensive lineman with their first-round pick for the second straight year. Saturday they chose defensive end Tyson Jackson, perhaps the first young piece of Todd Haley's new 3-4 scheme.

Jackson is considered by many experts to be the top 3-4 defensive end in this year's draft class. At 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds, he's stout against the run but has the quickness to present some problems for offensive linemen in the passing game.

Jackson may be the "five-technique" the 3-4 requires. He's been compared to Richard Seymour of the Patriots and Marcus Spears of the Cowboys. Both teams run variants of the 3-4 defensive front.

The Chiefs may not be finished on the draft's first day as rumors of a trade are swirling. Stay tuned to Warpaint for more updates on Scott Pioli's first draft with the Kansas City Chiefs. Top Stories
