Eagles' Reid denies threatening to resign

Eagles head coach Andy Reid strongly denies a report that he was ready
to walk away in a power struggle over personnel control.
At the league meetings in Palm Beach. Fla., Wednesday, Reid said there
was no truth to the Los Angeles Times report that he was playing
"I've got the final say, but I will tell you: We work as a team," said
Reid. "We've always done that. One of our strengths is that we do that.
We check our egos at the door, and we work together, and we listen to
each other. We have great respect for each other. We come out with that
final move, and I kind of put the stamp on it. The people I work with
are phenomenal. That's the way it's been and will continue to be."
Reid, the NFL's longest-tenured head coach, and the Eagles have been
active this offseason, signing wide receiver DeSean Jackson, defensive
end Trent Cole and offensive guard Evan Mathis to new contracts and
acquiring middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans from the Houston Texans to
address one of the team's most glaring weaknesses.
Following the initial report, Reid and the Eagles quickly issued the
