Colts coach discussed a variety of topics, from the injury report to safety LaRon Landry's four-game suspension, Sergio Brown starting for Landry and rookie guard Jack Mewhort being ruled out for Sunday's home game versus Baltimore.
Here are the highlights from Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano's Wednesday press conference at the team’s Northwest side complex:
— Injury updates included linebacker Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) practicing on a limited basis, rookie guard Jack Mewhort (ankle) and defensive tackle Arthur Jones (ankle) did not practice, and safety Colt Anderson, linebacker Andy Studebaker and offensive guard Hugh Thornton returned as full participants.
— Pagano spoke of the importance of getting pressure on Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, who has been sacked just three times.
— Colts will shift Lance Louis to left offensive guard for injured rookie Jack Mewhort (ankle) with Thornton returning to his right guard position after missing one game with an ankle injury.
— Pagano said he was disappointed in safety LaRon Landry being suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Sergio Brown will start for Landry.
— Coach heard for the first time about Ravens coach John Harbaugh’s joke regarding the “rumor” of piped-in crowd noise at Lucas Oil Stadium. Pagano said it was “an insult to our 12th man.”
— Mewhort has been ruled out for Sunday.
— Pagano said he didn’t know where a report was coming from about rookie Jonotthan Harrison starting at center for A.Q. Shipley.
