The team announced its four-game exhibition schedule Thursday with the opener against the Eagles at a time and date to be determined. It will be played between Aug. 13-16.
Their first home game will be the next week, between Aug. 20-23, against the Chicago Bears at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts will then travel to St. Louis between Aug. 27-30 and conclude preseason against their customary opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals, on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts-Eagles game is the first time these teams have met in the preseason since a 23-15 Colts home victory in 2009. The Eagles defeated the Colts 30-27 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 2 of the 2014 regular season on Monday Night Football.
The Colts and Bears have met 14 times in the preseason since 1957, the last time a 27-24 Bears victory in 2007 at the RCA Dome.
A trip to Edward Jones Dome marks just the fourth time the Colts and Rams have played in the exhibition season. The Rams have won twice. The last meeting was a Colts 38-3 victory at Lucas Oil Stadium in 2012.
The Colts and Bengals have met each preseason since 2001. The Bengals have a 15-8 preseason series edge, which includes a 35-7 victory last year at Paul Brown Stadium.
The Colts defeated the Bengals twice after that, though, ending Cincinnati’s season with a 26-10 AFC Wild Card playoff victory on Jan. 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium, as well as a 27-0 regular-season home victory on Oct. 19.
Indianapolis was 0-4 last preseason, the first time the franchise has been winless in the preseason since going 0-4 in 2010. The Colts last had a winning preseason record in 2003, when they went 3-1.
