Dates and times for the Indianapolis Colts’ preseason schedule have been finalized, the team announced Wednesday.
The four exhibition games — at Philadelphia, versus Chicago, at St. Louis and versus Cincinnati — will be televised in the Indianapolis area by Fox-59.
The date and time for the road game against the Rams has been set for 8 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Edward Jones Dome.
Indianapolis will open the preseason schedule against the Eagles at 1 p.m. on Aug. 16 at Lincoln Financial Field. The Colts host the Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The preseason finale against the Bengals is at 7 p.m. on Sept. 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts were 0-4 in preseason games last season, although that wasn’t an indication of strength because the team finished 11-5 in the regular season for the third consecutive season. Head coach Chuck Pagano’s team went 2-2 in the 2013 and 2012 preseasons.
In terms of series history with these four teams, the Colts will be playing the Eagles in preseason for the first time since a 23-15 home victory in 2009. The Colts have a 10-9 preseason series edge dating back to 1953.
The Bears and Colts have played 14 times in preseason since 1957. The last time was a 27-24 Bears victory in 2007 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
The Rams and Colts have met in the preseason just three times with the Rams winning twice. In 2012, the Colts defeated the Rams 38-3 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Cincinnati is a proximity finale for the 12th consecutive preseason. The Bengals have a 15-8 series advantage, which includes a 35-7 home win last year at Paul Brown Stadium.
A limited number of Colts season tickets will go on sale to the public beginning Monday, May 4, at 10 a.m.
