NFL Picks 2015: Week 16

Colts, on a 3-game losing streak, are 2.5-point underdogs at Miami.

The season can’t end soon enough as far as picking Colts games. They’ve crossed me up more times in 2015 than at any time in the past decade or so.

It seems like each week, there are a few games that just don’t make any sense. The hunches haven’t proven to be correct often times, although last week wasn’t awful but should have been better. An 11-5 record straight up was OK, despite the stupid pick of the Eagles at home against the Cardinals. The spread record was just 8-7-1, better than .500, but barely.

The Colts (6-8), on a three-game losing streak, are 2.5-point road underdogs at Miami (5-9) Sunday. Flip a coin.

(Odds by Oddsshark.com)

Chargers +5 at Raiders — If it’s the last home game in Oakland, Calif., may the “Black Hole” enjoy it. Don’t know how much fight San Diego has left. Pick: Raiders 27, Chargers 20.

Redskins +3 at Eagles — After flopping with Philly at home last week, the inclination is to swear off the Eagles. But Washington stinks on the road. Pick: Eagles 30, Redskins 24.

Panthers -7 at Falcons — The blowout in Carolina is fresh in the mind. Atlanta will show more at home, but it won’t be enough to prevent perfection. Pick: Panthers 26, Falcons 17.

Cowboys +6.5 at Bills — Buffalo has let everyone down in recent weeks. But Dallas is done and the Bills should wake up at home. Well, one would think. Pick: Bills 29, Cowboys 19.

49ers +8.5 at Lions — Detroit’s offense has been humming along except for one bad game at St. Louis. San Francisco doesn’t instill much confidence. Pick: Lions 34, 49ers 20.

Browns +11.5 at Chiefs — Kansas City has been hot and Cleveland not. Simple as that, right? No reason to take the points, although tempting. Pick: Chiefs 30, Browns 17.

Colts +2.5 at Dolphins — Who cares more? Well, Indy should. But the Colts have sputtered on offense with just two TDs in three weeks. Maybe Miami? Pick: Dolphins 23, Colts 20.

Patriots -2.5 at Jets — While the New York Jets will be up for this game, New England is the better team. The division champs won’t mess this up. Pick: Patriots 27, Jets 23.

Bears +3 at Buccaneers — Who knows about either one of these teams. The Bucs have faded, but so too has Chicago after winning at Green Bay. Pick: Bucs 23, Bears 16.

Texans -3.5 at Titans — Nobody wanted to post a line on this game because of the backup quarterbacks involved. No way Houston blows this. Pick: Texans 20, Titans 13.

Steelers -11.5 at Ravens — Pittsburgh has had trouble in Baltimore in the past, but that was when the Ravens had a decent team. Not this time. Pick: Steelers 34, Ravens 17.

Jaguars +2 at Saints — Jacksonville has slid back to reality after losing at home to lowly Atlanta. New Orleans won’t stink it up at home again. Pick: Saints 37, Jaguars 30.

Packers +6 at Cardinals — Arizona is motivated to finish the regular season strong. This could be the most appealing matchup of the week. Pick: Cardinals 27, Packers 20.

Rams +11.5 at Seahawks — The way Seattle is playing, it’s doubtful any team can go into that stadium and make a game of it. St. Louis sure can’t. Pick: Seattle 36, Rams 17.

Giants +6.5 at Vikings — Maybe the G-Men make this interesting, but that seems unlikely without their best receiver. Stick with home team. Pick: Vikings 28, Giants 20.

Bengals +3 at Broncos — Denver’s defense is due to dominate and is going up against a backup quarterback at home and in primetime. Pick: Broncos 20, Bengals 16.
