The Indianapolis Colts will begin the preseason against the Green Bay Packers at the Pro Football Hall of Fame and conclude with a familiar finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Although dates and times have yet to be announced for the remaining four exhibition games, the Colts shared the order of opponents Thursday. The Colts and Packers meet at 8 p.m. Aug. 7 in the Hall of Fame Game at Canton, Ohio. The other games are at Buffalo, hosting Baltimore and Philadelphia and then making the I-74 trek to Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium.
The preseason opener at Ton Benson Hall of Fame Stadium will be a special weekend as wide receiver Marvin Harrison and head coach Tony Dungy are among those to be enshrined. The Colts and Packers last met in a preseason game in 2011 with the Packers prevailing 24-21 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts have a 5-4 series edge in preseason games against Green Bay dating back to 1980.
A second-week visit to Buffalo marks the eighth exhibition meeting with the Bills, who own a 4-3 edge. Buffalo won 44-20 against the Colts in 2013 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts-Ravens matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium marks the first time the AFC teams have faced each other in a preseason game.
Philadelphia visits Indianapolis the next week in a preseason series tied at 10. The Eagles won 36-10 in last season’s preseason opener at Philadelphia.
The finale against the Bengals continues a tradition that began in 2001. The Bengals hold a 16-8 series lead, including a 9-6 win at Indianapolis last year.
