Blue is bringing it on a football field.
The Indianapolis Colts’ mascot will be joined by other NFL mascots in a full-length charity Mascots vs. Peewees football game July 15 at Carmel High School Stadium, 520 E. Main St., as presented by Lucas Oil Products.
Although subject to change, other NFL mascots scheduled to attend will be representing the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings.
They will go up against peewee teams from Carmel, Westfield, Avon and Center Grove. Halftime will include a performance by the K9 Crew Frisbee Dogs.
Blue and other mascots have played against peewees in recent years during the halftimes of Colts games at Lucas Oil Stadium. Seeing these much-larger mascots trying to tackle and avoid being tackled by the smaller players was so entertaining, the Colts decided to play a game for charities.
All proceeds will support Special Olympics Indiana, the Blackmore family in honor of Brooks Blackmore and the Indianapolis Colts Foundation. Gates open at 4 p.m. with the game beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Now through July 10, tickets are just $5 each and can be purchased at colts.com/mascotgame. Beginning July 11, tickets will be $7. Children 2 and under are free.
This family-friendly event has something for all ages. The evening will kick off with appearances and autograph opportunities from NFL mascots, Colts players and cheerleaders. In addition, the Colts PLAY 60 Zone and Colts In Motion traveling museum will be available for all attendees to enjoy.
All individuals, including children 2 & under, must have a ticket to enter. The Carmel Dads Club will have concessions set up at the event with a variety of food and beverages available for purchase. All tickets are general admission. There is no assigned seating for this event. All bags will be subject to search prior to entry of the stadium. No backpacks or duffel bags are permitted. No outside food or drink is permitted inside the stadium.
