Defensive end Jonathan Welsh out of Wisconsin signed his contract offer today, making him the fourth draft pick to officially join the team. Six players remain to be signed with training camp kicking off on Wednesday.
Welsh has been turning heads with his speed, adding some depth at a position that was badly in need of another hard-rushing lineman when Robert Mathis was injured towards the end of the 2004 season.
While some draft prognosticators predicted that the Colts would convert Welsh to a linebacker, the Colts have been adamant that Welsh will be playing defensive end.
As details of Welsh's contract become available, Coltpower will update this story.
