The Colts have included two of their draft picks amongst the roster cuts that have to be submitted to the league office by 4:00 today. The news of the two players' release was reportedly confirmed by their respective agents.
Neither cut is a huge surprise. Davis, a seventh-round pick out of Wisconsin, didn't stand out in his preseason opportunities at the running back position. And he didn't show the ability to compete with the other kickoff returns specialists, which could have been his best opportunity to make the roster.
Hunt was a fifth-round choice who was primarily a center and was overshadowed by Ryan Lilja in the preseason, who is capable of playing both the center and guard position. He has been filling in as the starting center in Jeff Saturday's absence due to a hamstring injury. Hunt also trailed NFL Europe player Trevor Hutton on the depth chart.
ColtPower will update roster cuts information throughout the day as it becomes available.
