ColtPower has confirmed through a call to the agent of Keith O'Neil that the third-year linebacker is headed to Indianapolis to add his special teams prowess to the Colts' efforts in 2005.
O'Neil was an outside linebacker out of Northern Arizona who Scout.com draft expert Tony Pauline described as a "hard working linebacker always looking to get involved in the action."
That attribute helped O'Neil land a job with the Cowboys as a special teams ace, finishing in the top three in tackles in both his rookie and second-year seasons.
O'Neil played in a 3-4 scheme at Dallas and was third on the depth chart at the left inside linebacker position.
In another roster move, it appears that recently signed DT Lynn McGruder has been released by the Colts. We are working to confirm that move today as well.
ColtPower hopes to have more on the O'Neil signing later in the day.
