ColtPower has learned that Rocky Calmus' surgery to repair a torn hamstring on Tuesday went very well. He's been told that there is no reason that he can't make a complete recovery and be ready for action next season.
The projected rehabilitation time is expected to be roughly 3-4 months, so he's planning to participate in the team's offseason programs early next year.
Although Calmus is currently a restricted free agent, he'll still accrue credit for the season since he's on injured reserve. As a result, Calmus will be an unrestricted free agent heading into the 2006 season.
But in light of his unfortuate incident just a week after joining the Colts -- and the investment the Colts are making in his recovery period -- he's hopeful that they will sign him to a new contract and give him the opportunity to compete for a roster spot next year.
