The Colts Dwight Freeney earned AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September, and now teammate Edgerrin James has followed that up by being awarded the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October.
It's the third Player of the Month award for James who last won it exactly five years ago October, 2000. He also won it in November, 1999.
The only other Colts running back to win the honor is Eric Dickerson (December, 1988).
During October, James rushed 86 times for 477 yards and 6 TDs, an average of 5.5 yards per carry. Adding in his 10 receptions for 78 yards, he averaged 138.8 yards from scrimmage per game.
He also added three consecutive 100+-rushing games during the month to his career total of 45 100+-games.
