Our Browns affiliate, obr.com, is reporting that Willie McGinest is in Cleveland today to talk to his old head coach, Romeo Crennel -- and to convince the team that he's worth paying him the sort of money he wants. The Browns like McGinest, but are skeptical about meeting his financial demands at age 34.

Our Redskins affiliate on the Scout.com network is reporting that on the evening news in Washington, D.C., George Michael said that the Redskins assured him that the rumor involving the Jets John Abraham was completely bogus and that the Redskins no longer have any interest in acquiring him.

Our Pittsburgh affiliate is reporting that the Steelers have lost defensive lineman Kimo von Oelhoffen to the Jets. He signed a three-year-deal worth $9.2 million that includes a $3.2 million signing bonus. SteelCityInsider.com's Jim Wexell has also confirmed that unrestricted free agent DE Brett Keisel has signed a four-year deal to stay with the team.

Packers OL Kevin Barry visited with the Detroit Lions today.

The Lions signed former Cowboys tight end Dan Campbell.

The Redskins signed former Chiefs backup QB Todd Collins, but lost S Ryan Clark to the Steelers. Clark signed a four-year deal.

Boston radio station WEEI reported that the Cowboys are close to signing Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri.

The Panthers signed former Rams DT Damione Lewis to a 2-year deal.

Scout.com has learned that former Vikings guard Toniu Fonoti has agreed to a pact with the Raiders. It includes a $585,000 base salary plus $415,000 in guaranteed money for a total value of $1 million.

Cleveland TE Aaron Shea visited the Steelers today and is expected to agree to a deal.

A rumor broadcast by WFAN Radio is that the Redskins may ship QB Patrick Ramsey, their second-round pick from this year and a first-rounder next year to the Jets for DE John Abraham.

Dallas released WR Keyshawn Johnson, avoiding a $1 million roster bonus payout.

As expected, Eagles WR Terrell Owens has been officially cut loose from the team. One source out of Kansas City is saying that the Chiefs are actively trying to set up a meeting with Owens and his agent. There is also speculation that Dallas might enter the bidding, which would be really ironic after the incident years ago when Owens sprinted to the star at the 50-yard line in Dallas to celebrate after a touchdown catch, only to get leveled for his disrespect by a Dallas player.

The Titans have agreed to terms with former Patriots WR David Givens and former Jets C Kevin Mawae. Terms were not yet released outside of the fact that Givens' deal is for five years.

The Jaguars signed former Bills OT Mike Williams, who was cut last month by Buffalo.

Former Cincinnati tight end Matt Schobel signed a five-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday.

The Lions and former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jon Kitna have reached a tentative agreement that will bring the free-agent quarterback to Detroit, his agent said Tuesday.

Quarterback Drew Brees' contract with the Saints is reportedly a six-year, $60 million deal.

Defensive end Kalimba Edwards has re-signed with the Detroit Lions for five years and $20 million, with $8 million in guarantees.

Former Texans QB Charlie Batch will sign a 3-year deal with the Steelers today.

The Vikings have traded QB Daunte Culpepper to the Dolphins contingent upon him passing a physical. The details of the trade haven't yet been released.

Chargers QB Drew Brees, who was also considering Miami, signed with the other team who was courting him heavily, the New Orleans Saints.

Although the Seahawks have 7 days to match the offer sheet the Vikings put on OL Steve Hutchinson, Adam Schefter at NFL.com says that early indications are that there's no way Seattle can afford to match the huge front-end loaded deal the Vikings put on the table.

Former Bills defensive tackle Sam Adams is rumored to have whittled his choices of where to play in 2006 between Miami and Cincinnati.

Former Rams safety Adam Archuleta signed a six-year, $30 million deal with the Redskins with a $10 million signing bonus. According to the Boston Globe, the Patriots were also interested in Archuleta.

ESPN is reporting that the Redskins have signed former 49ers LB/DE Andre Carter. LB Khary Campbell has re-signed with the Redskins.

OL Greg Jerman re-signed with the Bills.

Former Colts K Mike Vanderjagt visited with the Dolphins on Monday. Rumors have been floating around that Dallas or Green Bay would be his likely home in 2006, so Miami was a surprise entrant into the mix.

A report by the Boston Globe says that Patriots WR David Givens extended his stay in Tennessee to Tuesday.

The Tennessean is reporting that Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper said he's not interested in playing for Tennessee, and that statement has played a contributing role in the team's decision not to pursue him further.
