Our affiliate partner at TheRanchReport.com is reporting that four candidates are on the Cowboys' radar for the kicker position: Mike Vanderjagt (Colts), Adam Vinatieri (Patriots), Josh Brown (Seattle), and perhaps even Todd Peterson (Atlanta). They are suggesting that Brown, a restricted free agent, may be emerging as the frontrunner since Vanderjagt doesn't have a good reputation for kickoffs and Vinatieri is likely to want more than they are willing to spend. Seattle has already tendered a one-year, $712,000 offer to Brown, but if a team is able to sign him away, it would only cost them a seventh-round draft pick. Mike Vanderjagt's agent contacted Dallas last weekend, but any further interest by the Cowboys' organization has yet to be confirmed.
