Former Colts wide receiver and returns specialist Brad Pyatt will call St. Louis his home for the 2006 season.
Pyatt, who was a restricted free agent, was the only Colt who didn't receive a contract tender this year. As a result, he became an unrestricted free agent, able to sign with any team.
Pyatt landed two opportunities to choose from. He reportedly impressed the Steelers by running a 4.5 forty-yard dash earlier this week. And then he followed that up with a 4.47 time in front of the Rams.
According to ESPN.com, Pyatt agreed to a one-year, $432,500 contract that included a $7,500 signing bonus. He took that deal instead of a two-year offer from the Steelers.
Pyatt made 16 game appearances for the Colts over three seasons, but consistently battled injury problems. He was placed on injured reserve on September 3rd last year, missing the entire 2005 season with a shoulder injury. Pyatt has a career kickoff return average of 26.7 yards.
