Johnson's Deal Done

7/29 6:37 pm (ET) ... ColtPower has learned from one of our sources close to the league that sixth-round pick Charlie Johnson's deal was completed earlier today despite no official word yet from the team.

Don't expect to see Colts sixth-round selection Charlie Johnson as a camp holdout. He will be amongst the players reporting to Terre Haute tomorrow afternoon.

According to one of our sources close to the league, the Colts and Johnson's agent, Rodney Williams apparently agreed in principle to a four-year deal earlier today, even before T.J. Rushing and Antoine Bethea's deals were hammered out.

Johnson was the first pick in the sixth round by the Colts in April's draft out of Oklahoma State. A tight end known for his blocking skill, he was converted to the offensive line his senior year and was a nine-game starter.

Story update ... 11:20 pm (ET) The Associated Press is confirming Johnson's signing following a conversation with his agent, Rodney Williams. The deal is in the range of $1.6 million dollars.

As we reported earlier, the deal is a four-year contract.
