McGann Added to Roster, Koral Out

Indianapolis has added former Temple quarterback Mike McGann to their training camp roster, apparently at the expense of an undrafted free agent who had already been released once since his original signing following the NFL draft.

ColtPower has learned that the team added former Temple quarterback Mike McGann to their training camp roster, apparently at the expense of former UCLA backup quarterback David Koral.

McGann worked out with the team as a rookie camp invitee back in May, but was not offered a contract. Koral was one of the Colts' original undrafted free agent signings following the NFL draft along with Miami (OH) University's Josh Betts. Koral was waived following the signing of veteran quarterback Shaun King, but was re-signed two days later.

Wide receiver Levon Thomas, who ColtPower broke the news about regarding his return to the Colts via a waiver claim last week, was wearing Koral's number 7 jersey at Monday morning workouts.

McGann's Temple Owls posted an 0-11 record last year, but the 6-foot-6, 225-pound McGann threw for 1,469 yards during the season while splitting the quarterbacking duties with three others. He threw just three touchdowns against 13 interceptions while completing 48.8% of his passes.

But McGann finished his career at Temple third all-time in passing yards (4,498). He threw for over 200 yards ten times, and for over 300 yards three times in his career.
