Five players missed the morning session in Terre Haute, two that were a bit unexpected. Based on previous reports, we expected safety Bob Sanders (shoulder), CB Eric Hill (foot) and third-round draft pick Freddie Keiaho (unsigned) to be missing from the action. But knee problems also have wide receiver Montiese Culton and defensive end Jonathan Welsh sidelined.
The team practiced in full pads this morning but will switch to shorts for this afternoon's sessions as temperatures climb. During the morning practice, temperatures reached 86 degrees but the heat index was 93. And it took its toll on some of the players.
LB Keith O'Neill came out of workouts early apparently due to heat-related problems. But he may be back for the afternoon session. DL Marcus West also appeared to be struggling a bit, but he went back in during the morning session.
