Thursday's Top Ten Training Camp Notes

The Colts are winding things down in Terre Haute as they prepare to break camp this weekend. But we've captured the top ten things every Colts fan should know about today's workouts with our exclusive coverage!

The players who missed the morning session included DL Jonathan Welsh, Montae Reagor, Corey Simon, Tom Johnson; WR Brandon Stokley, DB Mike Doss, Eric Hill, Dexter Reid, Chris Laskowski, T.J. Rushing, Tim Jennings, Jahmile Addae; OL Ryan Lilja, TE Ben Hartsock, RB Kory Chapman, LB Freddie Keiaho, K Adam Vinatieri, and P Hunter Smith. The afternoon practice was a light special teams practice.

Defensive lineman Justin Brown was back practicing today. Quarterback Jim Sorgi apparently is still under a one practice a day regimen.

Cornerback Marlin Jackson made an impressive diving interception of a Peyton Manning pass during passing drills against the secondary.

Wide receiver Dan Sheldon made a nice grab on a pass from Shaun King for a 15-yard gain during a passing drill.

Wide receiver Levon Thomas put a nifty move on rookie Tanard Davis and caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from King.

Tight end Bryan Fletcher hauled in a quick pass over the middle from Sorgi for a 25-yard gain.

Running back Dominic Rhodes shook loose through some congestion for a 25-yard run.

Rookie Antoine Bethea continues to impress with great range even though he's wearing a brace for his knee injury. He covered some ground to make an interception on a pass from Manning intended for Reggie Wayne.

Running back James Mungro caught a short pass from Manning right before getting smacked hard by safety Bob Sanders. The Colts' Pro Bowl safety was obviously itching to get out on the field this week and has been laying hits on players all over the place.

Linebacker Gilbert Gardner dove to break up a pass from Manning to tight end Dallas Clark. Gardner almost intercepted it and could have walked into the end zone with the ball if he had pulled the tough catch in.

Marlin Jackson put a good solid lick on Dallas Clark after an 8-yard pass from Manning.

Top draft pick Joseph Addai burst through for a 15-yard run off the left guard. Later, he had a nice 15-yard jaunt up the middle.

Shane Andrus is expected to be signed late tomorrow or early Saturday so he can handle the kicking job against the Seahawks. The Colts also reportedly took a look at punter Reggie Hodges today. He could be signed to handle punting duties because of Hunter Smith's groin injury. ColtPower will have more on Hodges in a separate feature article.

Don't be surprised if quarterback Mike McGann is once again selected to be one of the waived players to make some roster space.
