Colts Make Three Offensive Line Moves

The Indianapolis Colts added a player to their offensive line who has plenty of experience in their system as the team prepares for their final preseason game against the Bengals. Meanwhile, another lineman was waived and a third was placed on reserve.

ColtPower has learned that the Indianapolis Colts have added former Colts offensive lineman Trevor Hutton to the roster. Hutton, who was in training camp this summer with Atlanta, was released as the Falcons trimmed their roster to 75 earlier this week. Since he already knows the Colts offense, Hutton was a smart addition for this week's game against the Bengals since the Colts plan to keep most of their starters off the field to avoid a late preseason injury to key players.

Originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State back in 2004, Hutton was on the team's practice squad most of his rookie year until he was promoted to the active roster in mid-November. He spent the balance of the season with the team and then did a tour of duty in NFL Europe with the Hamburg Sea Devils in 2005. He was again signed to the team's practice squad last September, but was released about a week later.

In other roster news, center Albert Bimper has been waived. The undrafted rookie out of Colorado State suffered a high ankle sprain against the Saints last Sunday, but had done some solid work in reserve duty throughout the preseason. Another offensive lineman, Mike Johnson, who missed training camp due to an non-football injury he incurred this spring while assigned to NFL Europe, has been put on the team's reserve/non-football injury list.
