According to one of our NFL sources, the Colts have brought former Colorado center Albert Bimper back, signing him to their practice squad.
The team had a vacancy on the eight-man roster after promoting rookie offensive tackle Daniel Federkeil out of the University of Calgary from the practice squad last Saturday. He saw action on special teams for the Colts against the Titans on Sunday.
The move is a bit of a surprise since the team released second-year veteran offensive lineman Matt Ulrich, who cleared waivers and still has practice squad eligibility left.
Bimper, a 6-foot tall, 300-pound undrafted free agent, was released by the Colts on August 30th following a solid training camp. He had suffered a high ankle sprain in the team's preseason matchup against the Saints shortly before his release.
The Colts then signed him to their practice squad on September 6th, but then released him again a few days later as the team tweaked its roster.
