The Indianapolis Colts re-signed offensive guard Matt Ulrich on Wednesday after waiving running back Kory Chapman on Tuesday.
Chapman had recently been promoted from the practice squad and is likely to return there. Safety Scott Ware, who had been added to the practice squad in mid-December, was also released on Tuesday, creating an opening on the eight-man squad.
Ulrich, a second-year player out of Northwestern, was released at the beginning of December after Ryan Lilja was healthy enough to return to the lineup. But with Lilja possibly out again after injuring his knee last Sunday against the Texans, Ulrich was needed for depth. He'll back up Dylan Gandy and Jake Scott, the expected starters for this Sunday's game against the Dolphins in Indianapolis.
