Hoyte Returns to Colts

Former Notre Dame linebacker Brandon Hoyte will be back with the Colts in 2007...

ColtPower has learned that linebacker Brandon Hoyte has agreed to a reserve/future contract to play for the Colts when the 2007 season begins.

Hoyte was an undrafted free agent who had a solid training camp and preseason with Indianapolis during his first year out of Notre Dame. In this Colt Scout feature by Jerry Langton for our Insiders, he pointed out back in May, 2006 that "He has extraordinary change-of-direction skills, is smart and appears to understand how offenses work (he is a former quarterback after all). He's also a vocal leader who gets his teammates up."

Hoyte is certainly a candidate for a special teams spot this year at minimum with his speed and a year of training camp under his belt. He'll be worth keeping an eye on as the team prepares for their 2007 season.
