As rookies arrived for a voluntary rookie camp on Wednesday in Indianapolis, just two of the Colts' draft picks had agreed to terms.
Seventh-round pick and former Texas Tech defensive end Keyunta Dawson confirmed Tuesday afternoon for Scout.com that he had agreed to terms. Later that day, Ohio State wide receiver Roy Hall agreed to a four-year rookie-minimum deal that Scout.com's Adam Caplan reported should include a signing bonus in the range of $143,000.
Shortly after 2:30 ET on Wednesday, top pick Anthony Gonzalez became the third Colts rookie to agree to deal, a five-year contract according to Scout.com's Tony Pauline.
That leaves second-round pick Tony Ugoh (OL), third-round picks Daymeion Hughes (CB) and Quinn Pitcock (DT), a pair of fourth-rounders -- Brannon Condren (S) and Clint Session (LB) -- and fifth-rounder Michael Coe (DB) to get on board before training camp opens on Monday morning.
With the rookies gathered at the voluntary camp -- which is geared towards preparing them for what training camp will be like -- the Colts have now set the high and low bar for the deals that have yet to be agreed upon. That will box in some of remaining picks, who will also feel increasing pressure as the clock continues to tick and they hear of more of their draft class members agreeing to their terms.
The Colts signed their picks in similar fashion last year, and only third-round pick Freddy Keiaho missing the opening of training camp while his agent continued to negotiate a few details. First-round pick Joseph Addai agreed to terms just one day before the start of training camp last summer.
The news of Gonzalez agreeing to terms was particularly significant since the Colts are counting on their number one pick to produce immediately as their slot receiver this season.
