The Indianapolis Colts re-signed undrafted free agent Matt Farbotko on Wednesday and released punter Reggie Hodges to make room for him on the roster.
The former Harvard tight end was cut just before camp opened, so he'll join the team without having had the benefit of any time in Terre Haute. But he did workout with the team during their minicamps and summer school sessions.
The move to bring Farbotko back was prompted by a pair of injuries to Colts tight ends during the Monday night football matchup against the Bears. Bryan Fletcher has apparently sprained his ankle, according to one of our Scout.com network sources, although the team has not released the results of an MRI that Fletcher had on Tuesday. But he will miss this week's game against the Lions and is questionable for the preseason finale against Cincinnati.
Undrafted rookie tight end Gijon Robinson injured his thumb on Monday night, but his availability for this week hasn't been determined yet.
