INDIANAPOLIS (3-0)

Next Opponent:  Home against Denver (2-1)

Defense:  The Colts defense held the Texans offense to 40 yards rushing and a 2.4 yards-per-carry average.  That's the lowest net-yardage rushing allowed by the Colts since November 7, 2005 when they held the Patriots to 34 yards ... Ahman Green left the game after just one quarter of play due to an ankle injury. He had just 5 yards on 4 attempts ... Gary Brackett made one interception and created the opportunity for the second one. He hit an intended receiver as the ball arrived, the ball popped out and was grabbed on a diving effort by LB Rocky Boiman. Brackett's interception was the seventh of his career, Boiman's was his fourth ... Indianapolis sacked Matt Schaub three times after the Houston QB had only been sacked twice in his previous two games combined ... The Colts defense held Schaub and his receivers to a 7.15 yards-per-attempt passing average, their lowest average of the season. Other than one pass to Andre Davis for 41 yards, the Texans didn't catch a pass longer than 15 yards from the line of scrimmage ... Josh Thomas, Gary Brackett and Keyunta Dawson forced fumbles, but the Colts didn't convert any of them into turnovers ... Marlin Jackson led the Colts with 15 tackles, including 12 solo efforts.

Offense:  Running back Joseph Addai averaged just 3.3 yards per carry for 72 yards, but scored two rushing touchdowns ... TE Dallas Clark made the only touchdown catch of the day for the Colts ... Marvin Harrison moved into fourth-place all-time in career receiving yardage with his 53 yards on 6 catches for the day ... Reggie Wayne had the longest pass reception of season with a 64-yard catch. He had the previous one as well, a 45-yard TD catch against New Orleans in Week 1 ... Colts QB Peyton Manning completed a season-high 69 percent of his passes, completing 20-29 for 273 yards and 1 TD. He's thrown just one interception during the first three games ... The Colts converted 50 percent of their red zone opportunities (3 out of 6) ... Indy's offense converted a pair of interceptions into ten points ... After the Colts had moved the ball 49 yards in the 3rd quarter, right offensive tackle Ryan Diem was called for a holding penalty that slowed the drive at the Texans' 25. The Colts weren't able to compensate and had to go for a field goal on the drive. Diem was also flagged for a false start on the Colts' last possession, but they moved the chains with a completion to Marvin Harrison. Indy was penalized five times during the game, three while on offense.

Special Teams: Adam Vinatieri was 3-3 on field goal attempts (36, 28, 35) ... After the opening kickoff had to be re-kicked due to an offsides penalty against rookie LB Clint Session, Texans returns specialist Jerome Mathis returned the second try 84-yards for a touchdown ... Hunter Smith posted a 57.7-yard average on three punts, but for a net average of just 22.3 yards ... T.J. Rushing averaged 26.5 yards per kickoff return, including a 47-yard return ... Matt Giordano and Tim Jennings each made 2 tackles, accounting for half of the team's total.

Player of the Game:  Linebacker Gary Brackett who finished the day with 9 tackles (7 solo), a forced fumble, a pass defensed and an interception that he returned 26 yards. Brackett's third-quarter interception was timely as the Colts had a 14-point lead, but the Texans had pushed the ball all the way to the Indy 18-yard line. After the turnover, the Colts kicked a field goal to widen their lead to 17 instead of seeing it shrink. Brackett's nine tackles included five against the run which included three for a gain of 1 yard or less and none longer than 5 yards.  His four tackles after passes all resulted in gains of 8 yards or less.
