A Note From ColtPower's New Managing Editor

Eric Hartz has joined the ColtPower team as the site's Managing Editor. Learn more about him and how this move will make ColtPower better than ever.

Hello, Colts fans!

I'm excited and honored to be joining the ColtPower team as the site's new managing editor. I'll be working with the other Scout.com experts to help bring you the exclusive analysis, commentary and news you've come to expect from ColtPower.com.

First, a little information about me: I'm from northeastern Indiana and have lived in the Hoosier state my entire life. I spent six years as a sports writer and editor at a daily newspaper before moving on to a non-sports job at a magazine in Indianapolis.

Sports remain my passion, however, and when Ed Thompson offered me the opportunity to contribute to his site, I relished the chance to get back in the game. This is my first foray into web publishing, so I'm excited about learning some new skills and meeting some great fans along the way.

I'm coming aboard at a particularly discouraging time for Colts fans – the team has lost two straight games for the first time in nearly a year, the AFC playoff race is tightening up and the team is ravaged with injuries. Many feel the Colts – a better team than the one that won the Super Bowl last season – won't be able to defend their title.

Win or lose, however, I'm in it until the end. Like you, I've stuck by this team through tougher times than these, and I don't regret a minute of it. That's because on Feb. 4, my team finally won the Super Bowl, and I walked with my feet 10 feet off of Meridian that night.

I'll never forget that feeling. And no matter where you were when the Colts hoisted the Lombardi Trophy, I'm sure most of you won't either.

At this point, you might be saying, "what about Ed?"  Well, don't worry.  As the founder of ColtPower.com in 1999, Ed won't forget his baby. While he's going to continue his editing and writing for the NFL site at Scout.com, he's hoping that by adding me to the ColtPower team that he'll actually have more time to contribute great Colts content and to chat with the fans in our forums.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you better, so I'll be venturing into the forums soon to see what the fans are saying and to talk Colts football with you. Enjoy the site, and let me know what you like and what we can do better.
