Key Matchups: Chargers at Colts analyzes some of the key battles in Sunday's AFC playoff game between the Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers at the RCA Dome. Keep an eye on these matchups to see who comes out on top Sunday.

Colts QB Peyton Manning vs. Chargers pass defense

Manning threw six interceptions the last time these two teams matched up, in November. He was also sacked twice. The Colts have had their problems in the past with defensive teams that use the 3-4. And San Diego has some great linebackers, along with a strong secondary, to cause some problems.

Chargers QB Philip Rivers vs. Colts DE Robert Mathis

Rivers has had a good season for the most part, although he has shown some inconsistency. He was sacked twice in the last meeting between the two teams and was picked off twice.

Mathis, meanwhile, missed the final four games of the regular season with sprained knees. With the loss of DE Dwight Freeney to a season-ending foot injury, Mathis' ability to rush the passer and cause havoc will be important.

Colts WRs Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne vs. Chargers CBs Quentin Jammer and Antonio Cromartie

Harrison missed most of the regular season due to an injured left knee. He is expected to return to the starting lineup against the Chargers, although it's not know how much he will play. Wayne had 104 catches for 1,510 yards and 10 touchdowns. Cromartie has a league-leading 10 interceptions. Jammer had one.

Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson vs. Colts S Bob Sanders

The league's best running back against the recently named Associated Press 2007 Defensive Player of the Year. Both play with emotion, in addition to being great athletically. This may be the best one-on-one matchup of the day.
