Davis Shot at Club

Cowboys defensive back Keith Davis was shot early Sunday morning outside a topless club in Dallas. He was treated and released from Parkland Hospital after suffering gunshot wounds in the right hip and left hand.

The Sam Houston State product played sparingly during his rookie season last year. According to several sources, Davis' injuries do not appear serious.

However, it remains unclear whether or not Davis would be ready in time for training camp, which begins July 26 in San Antonio.

Davis is a second-year player that spent most of the 2002 season on the practice squad. He is trying to make the team as a fourth safety and also as a special-teams contributor.

This is the third such incident involving Cowboy players this offseason. CB Dwayne Goodrich was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident back on January 14th and running back Ennis Haywood died of "unknown" causes in early May.

More details on this incident involving Keith Davis, as we receive them.
