2014 NFL Predictions: Saints Over Patriots

What fun is a new season if you can't jump out there with predictions sure to fail? We don't know, but it's a world we have no interest in living in.

The NFL season is just a few hours away. We'd be remiss if we didn't lace the internet with the 4 millionth season prediction article that no one is going to remember come January.

Regardless, here it is for your reading pleasure.. a season not-to-kind for Cowboys faithful.

AFC EastNew England The Pats always win the AFCE. Nothing to see here.
AFC NorthBaltimore This is more so regression by the Bengals who lost both coordinators, but Steve Smith should help round out this offense.
AFC SouthHouston Surprise! Houston rebounds on the strength of their dominant defense and an early season switch to Ryan Mallett at QB.
AFC WestSan Diego Keenan Allen is the best WR in the AFC West, and Phillip Rivers is waaaay underrated. That changes this year.
AFC WC 1Denver They're too explosive to keep out the playoffs, but an aged lineup suffers injuries.
AFC WC 2Indianapolis Andrew Luck's streak of playoff appearances continues, though they can't win the division with such a bad defense.
AFC ChampNew England over Denver Revis Island catapaults a solid defense, plus the return of a healthy Gronk and a serviceable WR corps = AFC Championship.

NFC EastPhiladelphia Someone's gotta win it; doesn't mean they have to be particularly good.
NFC NorthChicago The Bears offense proves to be unstoppable with mismatches galore.
NFC SouthNew Orleans The Saints young guns show the world what it really means to rebuild on the fly. Oh, and that Rob Ryan defense...
NFC WestSeattle Russell Wilson emerges and the battle for the NFCW never takes place. Seattle runs away and hides.
NFC WC 1Green Bay The Packers still aren't right; can't put my finger on it... because it's busy pointing at the defense.
NFC WC 2San Fran
NFC ChampNew Orleans over Seattle Injuries and suspensions ruin the season for the Harbaugh gang, who struggle to get to 9 wins.
