Cowboys C-Mike Q-and-A: 'Clueless' About The Reins Coming Off?

So, Christine Michael, a bigger role for you in Cowboys at Giants, right? 'I’m just as clueless as you are,' the Dallas RB says with a smile in this Valley Ranch Q-and-A:

It is a fact that Joe Randle feels the challenge from behind. It is a fact that position coach Gary Brown says "the reins'' are coming off the guy who is issuing that challenge, Christine Michael. But CHQ also understands that Joe is answering that challenge in practice this week, working to hand onto his "chairman'' position regarding the RBBC. Oh, and that while C-Mike is in the gameplan for the Giants. ... he is still working to earn the daily trust of his coaches.
So, there's room for both ... right, C-Mike?
“I’ve got to go out there and help contribute to this team. It’s a blessing to be out there, it’s a blessing that, like they said, I’m going to have more carries. We’ll see once Sunday gets here.”

Has the limited role been challenging?
“Yeah, I mean it’s tough. But like I said, I’m happy with anything to contribute to this team. It’s a good team, it’s a great offense and I’m just happy to be a part of it. If one carry is all I get, I’m blessed to get that.”

Different conversations with coaches? Playing a bigger role?
“Yeah, I mean they said that, and like I said, I’m just going to help to do my part. Whatever that bigger part consists of, I’m going to just do what I have to do.”

Any idea how much it might be?
“No, I don’t. Like I said, I’m just as clueless as you are. Those guys did say I’m going to get a little bit more carries, but we’ll see on Sunday.”
What to do to be successful?
“Just do what I’m supposed to do. Just learn from those guys that’s in there right now, man, and do what I’m supposed to do. Help contribute as much as possible.”

Re his gesture toward the sideline during the Pats game?
“Just excitement, you know, just excitement. Just hungry to get more.”

Best shot to show yourself?
“I wouldn’t say that. It’s too early for that, man. I’m just trying to get the basics down – learn these plays and get out there.”

Know all the offense?
“Yes ... Yes I do.”

When did you feel comfortable?
“I studied a lot, so I put a lot of work and a lot of hours into my playbook. As far as playing, I feel like I’ve been ready. As far as knowing the plays, they kind of make it as easy as they can for the backs, and you’ve just got to get in there and learn. You’ve got to get in there and get it down.”

Making a change because of your style? More physical?
“That I’m not sure. That I’m not sure. Just trying to win. Like we say, we’re hungry for a win, and that’s what we’ve got to do. We’ve got to go out there and all play together. We’re brothers, like we always say, and go out there and do it together.”
Running behind this O-Line:
“I’ve been looking forward to that for a while. Hopefully Sunday I enjoy it a lot more. We’ll see.”

What can you bring:
“Just myself, man. Just whatever I have to do – running between the tackles, catching the ball out the backfield, whatever. I feel like I can do a lot, just like the other guys feel like they can do a lot themselves. We’ve just got to go out there and do it.”
Biggest impression of the Cowboys/of the locker room since you got here:

“Just how well the guys get along. Like I say, we’re brothers around here, and it goes good. The guys welcome you, and it’s been going well since I’ve been here.”
