Cowboys Nation's Week 11 Rooting Guide: Who Needs To Lose

After everyone else agreeing to the terms, we try for another week of perfect results in our quest to assist Dallas in making an improbably playoff run.

Last week, CowboysHQ laid out an ambitious slate of Week 10 game results that would assist the Cowboys in their quest to rejoin the playoff race. In addition to their own contest, there were six games selected where the desired results would currently increase Dallas' chances. "Currently'' is important, because without being able to accurately forecast ALL future contests, some outcomes could look like they help one week, only to find out later in the season... not so much.

All of those contests ended up exactly how Dallas preferred, except for one... their own. Now, Tony Romo is back (see our "No Superman Talk'' Premium look at his lengthy Q-and-A this week) and the team still isn't all the way out of it. There's a chance and until their isn't, Cowboys fans will have a rooting interest in several games each week.

Dallas is in last place in the NFC, so it goes without saying that any matchup between NFC and AFC teams, Dallas is rooting for the AFC foe. In Week 11, that includes OAK-DET, IND-ATL, STL-BAL, DEN-CHI and CIN-ARI. Here's a look at the "important" four games of the Week 11 slate.

Washington @ Carolina

Panthers (-8)

This one's easy. There's nothing Dallas can do to catch Carolina (9-0), who with just one win in their final 7 games will lock in a better record than Dallas. Meanwhile, Washington (4-5) is one of three clubs Dallas is looking up at in the NFCE standings. With two H2H matchups remaining, Dallas will control their own destiny against Washington, but it will still be a better look with them if they were to go down this week, considering Dallas needs WAS to beat the Giants after Thanksgiving. ROOT FOR: CAROLINA

Tampa @Philadelphia

Eagles (-5.5)

Tampa (4-5) has doubled their 2014 win total already and has covered in 3 of their last five games. Philly (4-5) will likely be starting Mark Sanchez who was at the helm during the Eagles  collapse at the end of last season as well as their come-from-ahead defeat last week Like Washington, Philly is two games up on Dallas and of course NFC East takes precedent over Wild Card chances so... Green Bay @ Minnesota

Pick'Em

Raise your hand if you want to see Green Bay (6-3) lose four in a row under ANY circumstances? The Pack currently hold one of the two wild card slots, with a 6-3 record just like Atlanta. While Wild Card dreams are a stretch, they still exist and there is a H2H matchup a little less than a month away. Root for Minnesota (7-2), the new NFCN leaders to stretch their lead a bit, so that Green Bay stays in striking distance. ROOT FOR: MINNESOTA

San Francisco @Seattle

Seahawks (-12.5)

It's inconceivable that with their backs to the wall, Seattle (4-5) will lose to a team quarterbacked by Blaine Gabbert, right? Right, San Francisco (3-6)? Well, root for it to happen anyway because Seattle holds the H2H tiebreaker on Dallas, meaning that in a Wild Card hunt they can't finish better than .500. ROOT FOR: SAN FRANCISCO
