Veterans Wiley, Nix Cut

Running back Michael Wiley and defensive tackle John Nix were cut Monday by the Dallas Cowboys. Nix had played in 30 games as a reserve the past two seasons and made 43 tackles while Wiley was used extensively as a 3rd down back.

Wiley had been viewed largely as an ineffective player under new head coach Bill Parcells. The former Ohio State Buckeye was being lured as trade bait to several NFL clubs, but no one was interested enough to strike a deal.

"I just wasn't able to see much," Parcells said. "You got to show me what you can do," the head coach added about Wiley.
