The origins of 'America's Team'? In conjunction with an upcoming NFL Films special - 'There's Only One America's Team' - we go 1-on-1 talkin' Dallas Cowboys with the legendary Bob Ryan.

On this special edition of 'Cowboys StarCast,' host Jamie Horton sits down with the legendary Bob Ryan on a subject near and dear to the hearts of Dallas Cowboys fans:

"America's Team.''

The term "America's Team" is a nickname given the Cowboys by Ryan, now Vice President and editor-in-chief of NFL Films, who coined  it for the Cowboys while preparing and editing the team's 1978 season highlight film. The NFL Network’s There’s Only One America’s Team, which premieres Wednesday at 7:00 PM Central as part of The Timeline series, is the subject of our discussion with Mr. Ryan. The one-hour show reflects on the moment the Cowboys became “America’s Team,” and features interviews with Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Drew Pearson, Chris Christie and others.
