Dantzler was originally signed by Dallas as a rookie free agent out of Clemson in 2002, where he was the first quarterback in the history of Division I-A football to rush for more than 1,000 yards and pass for more than 2,000 yards in the same season.
After making the change from quarterback to running back at the professional level, Dantzler led Dallas during the preseason last year with a 44.6 kickoff return average. He also electrified sports fans everywhere with one of the most exciting plays of the 2002 NFL season with a mind-boggling 84-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers.
Dantzler was released on the final cut and immediately signed to the Cowboys practice squad earlier this week.
