Cowboys Move Camp to California

The Cowboys announced Friday that training camp will move back to Oxnard, California in 2004. The team last practiced there in 2001.

Oxnard itself is 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

The move ends a two-year stint at the Alamodome in San Antonio. A scheduling conflict would have kept the Cowboys out of San Antonio next year, and officials confirmed that a proposal was on the table that would have called for the team to pay a significant rental fee for the first time in 2004.

A starting date for the 2004 camp has not been set, but it generally comes at the end of July.
