Rookies Report Friday

The Cowboys will get their first look at the rookies at the annual rookie mini-camp, set for April 30-May 2. The first practice is at 2 p.m on Friday. The Cowboys will also hold the non-pad, non-contact drills Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

The team's veteran players will participate in only two minicamps this offseason, the first not until the first weekend in June. Parcells likes his players to concentrate on conditioning in the offseason rather than participating in a whole bunch of minicamps and quarterback schools.

* The Dallas Cowboys have also announced their 2004 preseason schedule. The four-game schedule is highlighted by an ABC Monday Night Football appearance against the Tennessee Titans. The Cowboys will open the preseason on Aug. 14 at Houston.

The following week, the team will break camp and travel north from its Oxnard, Calif., based training camp to face the Oakland Raiders on Aug. 21. The club returns to Dallas for a Monday Night Football match up with Tennessee on Aug. 30 before wrapping up the preseason schedule with a Thursday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 2.

The Cowboys are tentatively set to open training camp in Oxnard, California, on July 29th.
