Two Punters Left for Camp

The Dallas Cowboys released punter Josh Boies on Tuesday, giving the team two punters that will battle it out in training camp for a spot on the roster later this summer.

By cutting Boies, Mat McBriar and Ryan Flinn will now battle it out to take the place of veteran Toby Gowin, who was released in March.

Gowin was released after averaging just 39 yards per kick last season.

Boies had an impressive mini-camp two weeks ago, and actually hit special teams coach Steve Hoffman with a 50-yard bomb at one point during the three day practice session.

He never punted in a regular season game however and had only spent the 2000 training camp with Cincinnati before he was released.
